"I am interested in bringing the 4th
dimension, movement into a 2-
dimensional medium. Shapes swing,
recede, draw nearer, or sway. Some
are playful. Others are more ominous
and sculptural.

My recent work
combines abstract images that I have developed from nature and from human tools.  I collect seeds, buds, blossoms and leaves that resemble the human made world of diagrams, plumbing, and tools. All of these provide an endless parade of forms and functions."

Art is good when puzzlement, discovery, and surprise are daily companions. This can be as humble as the materials and techniques that give texture and form to work. Or it can delve into the fears, and aspirations of the human condition. Good art challenges us to see new things in the world, or to see familiar things in a new way. Either way, it changes us.
